What is a concrete vibrator?

When it comes to construction projects, ensuring the quality of concrete is critical to the durability and strength of structures. A concrete vibrator is an essential tool that helps eliminate air bubbles and voids in the mix, ensuring compact and uniform concrete. At Brikum, we offer a selection of concrete vibrators that meet the highest industry standards, ensuring a professional result with every pour.

Advantages of using a concrete vibrator

  1. Improves the quality of concrete: By using a cement vibrator, you ensure that the mix is distributed evenly, eliminating voids and air bubbles that could compromise structural strength.
  2. Facilitates construction work: Construction vibrators are designed to facilitate compaction work, allowing concrete to flow better into molds and formwork, reducing manual effort and speeding up the setting process.
  3. Versatility: We have different models adapted to the specific needs of each project, from portable vibrators for small projects to more powerful equipment for large construction projects.

Frequently asked questions about concrete vibrators

How do I know if I've vibrated the concrete enough?

The pro's trick is to watch the surface: when the bubbles stop rising and you see a thin, shiny layer of moisture appear around the needle of the cement vibrator, it's time to remove it. If you wait too long, you risk the heavier stones sinking to the bottom and the mix losing its homogeneity.

Can a concrete vibrator be used to move the mass laterally?

Although it's a common temptation to save effort, it's not ideal. Concrete vibrators are designed for vertical compaction. If you use them to "push" the cement along the formwork, the mix can become uneven and leave areas with less strength than intended.

What hose length is recommended?

It depends on the height of your formwork. For house pillars, a construction vibrator with a 1.5 to 3 meter hose is usually more than enough to reach the bottom without problems. The important thing is that you can handle it comfortably without the motor jerking.

Is it normal for the needle of the cement vibrator to get hot?

It's normal for the vibrator to get a little warm due to internal friction and vibration. However, the fresh concrete itself helps cool it down while you work. Therefore, it's not a good idea to leave the construction vibrator running in the air for extended periods; activate it only when you're about to insert it into the concrete.

What maintenance does the concrete vibrator motor require?

If it's electric, keep the ventilation grilles free of dust and dried cement to prevent overheating. If you've opted for a gas-powered construction vibrator, you'll need to keep an eye on the oil levels and the condition of the air filter, just as you would with any other combustion engine machine in your workshop.
